Dear Federations,

With the purpose of optimizing the organization of sporting competitions, I believe it is the right time to plan the European Championships 2025.
As you can see in the Board Meeting Minutes 2/2024, published on the EDC website, the Executive Board shared the following indicatively periods and dates to set as a basic chronological organization of Championships in the EDC and FMJD General

Calendars 2025, to avoid any coincidence:

EC Veterans and/or Under 27 ➔ from 7th to 13th April 2025 (as the recurring annual frequency of them occurs in the first or second week of April, depending on Easter time);

EC Blitz and Rapid, in Brussels (Belgium) ➔ from 10th to 11th May 2025.

EC Teams ➔ from 8th to 15th June 2025 (the recurring annual frequency occurs in the second week of June);

EC Youth ➔ from 1st to the 10th August 2025 (being the first decade of August the usual annual frequency);

Other reserved and/or optional dates (e.g. in case of U27 separated from the Veterans) ➔ from 1st to 7th September 2025 (in the week around the first Monday of September).

Furthermore, as reported in the Board Meeting Minutes 6/2023, I would kindly remind you all the “Guidelines for Organizers” to take into consideration for the European Championships which will be planned in 2025.

EDC Youth Championships: no difference in competition fee between first and other players (of a Federation, per category). Players fee 30€ each, 10€ for Blitz and Rapid Championships, with 50% of the fee to the EDC. No free places. No more than 4 players for each category, for each Federation. The EDC pays for travel costs and fees of the Main Referee and medals, with accommodation paid by the organization.

All the amount of fees for Blitz and Rapid will be spent on Money Prize. The EDC pays for travel costs and fees of the Main Referee and medals, with accommodation paid by the organization.

The EDC pays for travel costs and fees of the Main Referee and medals, with accommodation paid by the organization.

A note:
Federations who are not EDC Ordinary Members (or not updated with the payment of the annual EDC fee) must pay an additional fee (currently fixed in 10€ per each player, per each championship) to participate in a European Championship.
Players applications for the European Championships must be sent by the Federations.
For each registration and extra fee (10€) payment in cash can be applied at the arrival at the EDC Championships.
Highlighted: Daily fee of 60€ a day to the EDC Main Referees, per each playing day.

Any intentional proposal of organizing a European Championship must be submitted and sent by the 30th November 2024 to board@europedraughts.org . The proposals must be signed by the President of the National Federation also in case it is a Draughts Club who will organize a European Championship.

My best regards,
